The Young Scholars Workshop is designed to encourage a new generation of prospective researchers from Indonesia and Australia (especially Honours and Master students, but also PhD students). Funding is available on a competitive basis to bring young scholars together with established researchers and to present a summary of their research.
The workshop will be held annually at the same time as the Policy Research Forum of the AIGRP. Participants in the Young Scholars Workshop will also have an opportunity to observe the Policy Research Forum. Economy travel and accommodation for 3 nights will be available to scholars who apply.
The substantive focus for the Young Scholars Workshop covers the same broad areas as AIGRP research projects. There is no requirement for research partnerships for Young Scholars. Your application should be no more than one page in length and be supported by a letter from your research supervisor. In your application please outline your research project, its potential significance and how you believe you would benefit from participating in the AIGRP Young Scholars Workshop.
Former ADS/APS scholarship holders may be eligible for a program for ongoing contacts with their supervisors and colleagues, or for the funding of a project within their workplace. The mentoring program is designed to maintain your research skills and to adjust what you learnt whilst studying to practical on-the-job action plans.
To apply for this program please be in touch with the Young Scholars Coordinator, Joanne Pickles , to discuss your interests and how these can be advanced through the mentoring program.
