Middlesex University Business School
Middlesex University Business School invites applications for two
research studentships, available for a September/October 2007 start.

Applications are invited for work in any area of Business, Management or Law. Applications will be particularly welcome in the following areas:

* Cross-cultural management
* Corporate Social Responsibility (especially in its labour aspects)
* Global labour standards
* International employment relations
* Accounting and finance
* Marketing
* Economics (especially socio-economics)
* Local and regional economic development

Applicants should hold or expect to gain a first degree with first or second class honours from a recognised institution, and a Masters degree would be an advantage. Applicants should complete an application form and return it with a preliminary outline research proposal. The proposal should be no more than four sides and include succinct aims, set in the context of existing studies and outline the data, methods and methodology that will underpin the research.

Awards will be tenable for up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress. They will cover all university registration charges and tuition fees and a tax-free living allowance of £12,500 per annum. Successful candidates will follow the Middlesex University Business School Doctoral Programme, the first year of which consists of the taught course Research Methods for Business and Management.

Successful completion of the first year will lead to the award of the degree of Master of Science.
