The M.Sc. in Urban Planning is an international postgraduate programme that provides a comprehensive professional training in the theory, method and practice of urban and regional planning. A focus on the planning and management of sustainable cities and regions is an important distinguishing feature of the programme and this focus is reinforced by the research carried out in the Centre itself.
Students from a number of Asian countries are eligible to apply for Asian Development Bank Scholarships which provide financial support covering tuition fees and living expenses. Students in Hong Kong are not eligible for ADB scholarship.
M.Sc. Programme in Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, Maastricht University in cooperation with The Netherlands School of Public and Occupational Health, Amsterdam
Matra Training for European Cooperation (MTEC) Scholarships for Promising Students and Public Health Professionals. Approximately 30 full scholarships are made available by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the M.Sc. programme in Public Health as offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences of Maastricht University in cooperation with the Netherlands School of Public and Occupational Health (Amsterdam) for the coming academic year 2007/2008.
The Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (ORS or ORSAS) grants awards on a competitive basis to international postgraduate research students of outstanding merit and research potential.
The number of scholarships available at Newcastle under this scheme varies, but the University’s success rate in recent years has been very good (in 2004, 24 awards were given to Newcastle students).
Awards are made:
- for full-time research programmes only
- initially for one year but may be extended up to a maximum of three years
What does the scholarship cover?
- the difference between the tuition fee for a home (UK) postgraduate student, and the fee chargeable to an international postgraduate student
In commemoration of its 80th anniversary in 1998, Matsushita Electric decided to launch Panasonic Scholarship Program for privately-financed students from Asian countries to pursue mater’s course in Japan.
We hope this scholarship will provide them with a good oppurtunity to do research at graduate schools and enable them to contribute to the development of their countries and to promote friendship between Asian countries and Japan in the 21st Century.
ELIGIBILITY
Privately-financed students from Asian countries who are university graduates under 30 years of age and wish to enter master’s courses of natural science and engineering area except Medical Science, Pharmacology and Dentistry at graduate schools in Japan.
The Hitachi Scholarship Foundation offers postgraduate scholarship awards to faculty members of the universities in Southeast Asian countries who intend to study at Japanese graduate schools as full-time students for Master’s or Doctoral Course in the field of science and technology under the following conditions.
1. Term of Scholarship
• For Master’s Course: Two and half years including half a year for preparation to enroll at the Master’s Course
• For Doctoral Course: Three and half years including half a year for preparation to enroll at the Doctoral Course
