Asian Development Bank / ADB Japan Scholarship Program

The Asian Development Bank - Government of Japan Scholarship Program graduate degree fellowship provides support for graduate (post-baccalaureate) studies in approved fields of study at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa (UHM), and for participation in educational activities at the East-West Center (EWC).

The basic requirements for this scholarship are:
1) Two years work experience at the time of application.

2) A full 4-year bachelor’s degree at the time of application, or, the equivalent of a full 4-year bachelor’s degree; (an equivalent of a full 4-year bachelor’s degree could be a 3-year bachelor’s degree plus a 1-year master’s degree, or a 2-year bachelor’s degree plus a 2-year master’s degree, subject to review).

3) Applicants must submit official English proficiency exam scores; minimum acceptable scores are 550 for TOEFL and 6.0 for IELTS. (However, you are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement if you earned a bachelor’s or advanced degree within the last five years at a regionally recognized institution in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, or UK).

4) GRE test scores must be submitted if required by the Department of study.

5) If you are applying to the School of Business MBA Program, or JEMBA Program, please submit official GMAT scores.

6) All test scores must be sent directly from the Test Centers to the East-West Center, institution code #4868, or, if submitted by the applicant, the scores must be submitted in an official sealed Test Center envelope. If we do not receive official test results in an official sealed Test Center envelope, the University of Hawaii Graduate Division will not accept the test scores.

7) Please check the ADB website at www.adb.org for specific information regarding ADB requirements.

Remember, the application deadline is the November 1, 2006 postmark.
Both the ADB and UHM applications are completed and mailed to the ADB Office by the postmark deadline.
